What is the film about?

Spotlight is a 2015 American biographical drama film directed by Tom McCarthy and written by McCarthy and Josh Singer (Siegel 2014).

This film uses soft colours, linear storytelling and unobtrusive photography to talk about the Boston Globe's Spotlight team’s story based on the actual events (Calhoun 2015).

Robinson is the editor of the independent investigation team, Spotlight, which is the nation's oldest team of newspaper investigative journalists in the United States (Douban 2015).

Team members, including Mike Rezendes, Sacha Pfeiffer, and Matt Carrol investigated widespread and systematic cases of child sexual abuse by a large number of Roman Catholic priests in the Boston area (Bauer 2017).

It has shaken the entire Catholic Church to its core by revealing the true events of a massive child molestation scandal and cover-up within the local Catholic archdiocese. In the end, they had a list of 105 communities in the United States and 101 around the world where major scandals involving clerical abuse have occurred.
